Lodges And Camps In MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

The renowned Masai Mara National Reserve is located an approximate 270 kilometres from Nairobi. Without a doubt the finest wildlife park in all of Kenya, Masai Mara is home to an abundance of majestic animals, including lions, giraffe, rhino, cheetah and wildebeest. It is here that visitors can observe the much publicised wildebeest migrations, a sight that will leave even the most jaded individual in awe. Visitors can choose from a variety of accommodation options, including tented camps, lodges and safari clubs.

Governors Camp

Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, it’s waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile, in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.

Some of the 37 tents line the riverbank, tucked into the forest they enjoy uninterrupted views over the Mara River, others have views across the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara. Created in 1972 Governors’ Camp set new standards in luxury for a tented camp. Today it’s still Africa’s best.

Everything is under canvas, all tents have en-suit bathrooms with hot and cold running water and flushing toilets. There is a bar tent with deck overlooking the Mara River and dinning tent with views over the plains.

Governors Camp has just been awarded a Silver Eco Rating from Eco- Tourism Kenya due to our sustainable tourism practices in place in camp.

ASHNIL MARA Camp

Ashnil Mara Camp is a luxurious tented camp situated inside Masai Mara National Reserve, close to Mara River; well known for wildebeests migration. This camp is situated in the best position for game view with over 50 luxury tents. Ashnil Mara camp is a 4 to 5 hours drive from Nairobi city (45 mins flights) or 2 hour flight from Kenya coast. Mombasa/Diani Beach. Major hotel facilities are: Swimming pool, Restaurant, Lounge Bar and Business Services.

OLARE MARA KEMPINSKI

Olare Mara Kempinski is situated in the heart of its own private conservancy inside the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. This luxurious camp has more than twelve tents, a central lounge and a dining area. Olare Mara Kempinski delivers the ultimate fusion of untamed wilderness and sophisticated elegance. From the camp you enjoy game drives, Air balloon safaris, guided walks and horse riding.

Olonana Camp

Sanctuary Olonana is an award-winning tented safari camp on a private stretch of the Mara River in the heart of Kenya’s most famous game reserve, the Masai Mara.

This small and exclusive camp, the first of Sanctuary’s luxury safari properties, was built along sustainable lines which, along with our innovative wetlands and tree-planting projects, have earned Sanctuary Olonana a Gold Award from Ecotourism Kenya. Little Governor's Camp

Located on the edge of the Masai Mara National Reserve, the camp is accessed by a very short boat ride across the Mara River .Vehicles are left on the far river bank and the camp is therefore quiet and undisturbed. The guest tents at Little Governors’ have wooden decks with large verandahs for guests to enjoy the constant game activity that takes place around the marsh in front of camp. Breakfast and lunch are served in the open air . In the evening, a warming log fire burns in front of the bar tent, and dinner is served in the nearby dining tent

Faced in volcanic stone and utilizing the natural rocky outcrops of a valley known as ‘the place of the young rhino’, from which it takes its name, the lodge has been designed to blend chameleon-like into the savannah landscape.

ROYAL MARA SAFARI LODGE

The Royal Mara is located in the Mara North Conservancy which is the richest and most varied wildlife section of the Masai Mara wildlife ecosystem.

The Royal Mara has eight luxury, spacious, guest suites situated with river frontage which have flush toilets, bidets, twin basins, luxury showers, hot water, and electricity.

All river guest suites also have Maasai carpeting, colonial antiques, and African artifacts and include a wardrobe cabinet, a writing desk, a safe deposit box, and an internal sitting area. A wifi signal is also broadcast to all guest suites so that guests with iphones, android smartphones, or PC/MAC laptops may enjoy complimentary internet access from the comfort of their riverfront room.

A room attendant is assigned to each river guest suite and daily house keeping is provided. River guest suites are on raised decks with private river frontage verandas equipped with chaises lounges and dining seating.

Kicheche Mara Camp

Kicheche Mara Camp is located on the Aitong Plains in the northern Koiyaki Lemek region of the famous Masai Mara. The camp is located in a prime wildlife area and game viewing starts right from the camp itself. Access is from Ngerende airstrip, 35 minutes game drive away. The camp prides itself on offering a friendly and relaxing stay, with our hosts treating you as welcome guests, not mere travel statistics.

To maintain this intimate and relaxed atmosphere there is a maximum of twenty two guests at any time. Each tent is comfortably furnished with an en-suite bathroom and flushing toilet, low wattage lighting is supplied 24 hours. The majority of the tents are in secluded positions overlooking the plains and nearby hills, while others are closer together for families or friends. Triple and Quad tents (1 double & 2 single beds) are also available. The spacious Nyati tent acts as the camp lounge with comfortable seating, a library, board games, cards and local crafts.
